Coyote Hunting in Maine
Coyote Night Hunt

Although coyote hunting is open year round, we generally target them hard December through April when pelts are prime and calling and baiting are much more effective. Even though a few are shot during the regular firearms season on deer, the coyote is extremely cagey and illusive, making them a Greta Northern American game animal to persueduring the off season of other big game animals. We’ve spent some 18 years trapping, calling, baiting, and chasing the coyote. Yet, every time we get one, that same thrill of excitement returns. One of the most effective ways we have found to repeatedly harvest the coyote is over bait at night. We will you up in a two man insulated, heated shanty over looking an active bait. It is not uncommon to see up to three dogs at the same time. This is a great oppotiunity to sit with a friend or sibling and have a wild and exciting time. Due to the time of year this can be combined into a package that includes a day of ice fishing and/or hunting hare over a good pack of beagles. Guaranteed to break the cabin fever.
